Chelsea Got Destroyed by Brentford...
Last night was the Premier League night. (at least in my time zone) Seven matches have taken place. None of them really surprise me more than this Chelsea vs Brentford match. We got absolutely battered by Brentford, 4-1 loss. In fact, I was about to talk about World Cup, and this happened.
If you weren't there during this match, let me tell you the match. In the first half of the game, nothing interesting happened. We weren't playing as well as we should, and there was is no real dominance. A couple shots were taken, no real danger here. However, the second half made this one of the most incredible matches I've ever watched this season. Rudiger hit a fantastic long-range shot at the start of the game. Everyone went crazy, I went crazy, Standford Bridge was heated at that moment. But, what was happening next really overshadowed this goal. I think only a couple seconds later Brentford shot a goal immediately. Probably Chelsea's tactics were going full attack mode, hence why our defense was paper-thin in that second half. After Rudiger's amazing shot, Brentford scored three goals in ten minutes. We had a couple chances as well, but we didn't utilize those chances. Finally, we lost 4-1 to Brentford,
First of all, credit needs to be given where it's due. Brentford, fair play. They were playing incredibly well, didn't waste all those chances. Four goals conceded, not undeserved at all. Secondly, none of our Chels players have been outstanding during that match, including Rudiger. That long-range score was incredible, but as a center-back, he wasn't defending well either. Yeah, our tactics and defending were really garbage. Werner missed, as always. Havertz had some big chances, unfortunately, he didn't score as well. Thirdly, the major reason is the tactics. I don't know what Thomas Tuchel said to our players during half-time, but whatever he said, led to this disaster. WE WERE PLAYING TERRIBLE!
Am I blaming everyone right now? Not necessarily. I can make a million excuses for this match. Our players were mostly playing in national teams, and they were under big pressure. Our Captain America wasn't there, Jorginho was on the bench for the whole game. They must be overwhelmed by the whole crowd, by Stanford Bridge, or by Brentford. Yes, we could be saving energy for the next Real Madrid match. Yes, there were uncertainties around our club, Our ownership was still a problem. The #NOTORICKETTS protest happened outside Stanford Bridge just a couple hours ago.
But, all I want to say is, that we can't play football matches like this. We will be fighting Real Madrid just a few days later, and we lost to the 14th of the Premier League. This match really didn't matter at all, we were still five points ahead of Arsenal, and they will be having tough matches. Real Madrid wasn't doing well either, they got smoked by Barcelona. They won the game against Celta de Vigo, but it was the two penalties. But, at least they lost to Barcelona. I was having high hope for that match, but now I really don't. It's getting ambiguous, we were probably saving energy, and so did Real Madrid.
In my time zone, the match took place at 10 p.m. After this game, I couldn't sleep at all. The match itself is fantastic, undoubtedly. But, I'm really disappointed and worried. I was scared to go on YouTube, Reddit, or any website. I was devastated at the moment. We were not consistent. Sure, the match really didn't matter at all, it wasn't a key moment or anything. Simply, this is not what I wanted to see. I'm still hopeful about our club, wish we'll beat Real Madrid, and everything will be alright in the end.
