Magdalena Bay - Mercurial World Review

Image
About 6 months later, I like this album even more. Originally, this album wasn't my favorite of 2o21, but now and probably for a long time, it'll continue to be my favorite. Every time I revisited this album, it turned out greater and greater.     This is the Internet generation. Genres like Hyperpop, SoundCloud Rap and Digicore, Artists like Charli XCX, 100 gecs and Kero Kero Bonito are getting more and more popular. Magdalena Bay took a big influence from these things, combined with 80s synth-pop and new-wave, this album was the final result. If you look at this duo's website or Tiktok, it'll literally feel like a fever dream you dreamed of living in. At the same time, the music matched the look; weird and postmodern themes. Mostly the influence came from Charli XCX and Grimes, and they've even made a mashup for forever and Oblivion . Their site mercurialworld.com      They started this album with a very common title The End (just like Donuts ...

I'm So Proud of Chelsea

Image
So many fantastic games happened this week and the results were brilliant. I've said it before, we were Chelsea and we would bounce back. All the Blues players proved me so right.      Firstly, let's talk about games around Chelsea. I expected Chelsea to crash over Southampton, but 6-0 was absolutely cheering. This fantastic result brought a huge smile to me the whole day, however, I was a bit worried about the second leg due to the spectacular performance. They are all young players, and we've seen how badly Werner could play, especially after winning something big. Oh boy, oh boy. The Real Madrid match was positively surreal. Although we lost on aggregate anyway, there are just some excellent matches that you don't feel like being defeated even if you lose.      We lost to Real Madrid, narrowly. Credit needs to be given when it's due, hail to all Chelsea players, hail to Thomas Tuchel, hail to Real Madrid as well because this was just a...

Chelsea Is Over This Season

Chelsea lost to Real Madrid 3-1 in Stanford Bridge, unfortunately. Although it was only the first leg, we were quite devastated. Villarreal won 1-0 against Bayern Munich on the same night, and Everton lost to Burnley 3-2. It wasn't a great result at all, Everton will be most likely relegated this season, which isn't great for Lampard. Anyway, that night was heartbreaking.     As Thomas Tuchel said, we're officially out of the European Champions League. All we hope right now is winning the next match against Southampton. Seriously, we conceded seven goals in the previous two matches. We weren't playing well enough as a World Champion. Our first half was an absolute nightmare, Karim Benzema, probably the best striker in the world right now, scored two headers. Our defense was collapsing, Christensen looked like he just didn't care at all. In fact, we were actually lucky because Vini Jr. hit the bloody crossbar. We had our attempts, but only one of them was a goal....

London Derbies Made Premier League So Interesting

Image
Another interesting Premier League match has taken place. Another London Derby, Crystal Palace vs Arsenal, the ninth place in Premier League against the fifth place in Premier League. Clearly, Arsenal is the bigger club, but Crystal Palace was on smoke. They won the match against Wolves and had a draw against Man City, the first in the Premier League. The result was quite astonishing I might say, Crystal Palace 3-0 Arsenal.     Keep in mind, that Arsenal didn't stink recently. They won four out of five matches and only lost to Liverpool. Arteta was slowly and steadily building this team, which made them a contender for the Premier League top four. I watched the match, and Crystal Palace didn't dominate the whole game. In fact, Arsenal might get a bit unlucky. Some great chances, but they didn't turn those into scores, and that's the magic of football.      Due to Arsenal's loss, the Premier League table will be having some real heat. Man United dre...

Chelsea Got Destroyed by Brentford...

Last night was the Premier League night. (at least in my time zone) Seven matches have taken place. None of them really surprise me more than this Chelsea vs Brentford match. We got absolutely battered by Brentford, 4-1 loss. In fact, I was about to talk about World Cup, and this happened.     If you weren't there during this match, let me tell you the match. In the first half of the game, nothing interesting happened. We weren't playing as well as we should, and there was is no real dominance. A couple shots were taken, no real danger here. However, the second half made this one of the most incredible matches I've ever watched this season. Rudiger hit a fantastic long-range shot at the start of the game. Everyone went crazy, I went crazy, Standford Bridge was heated at that moment. But, what was happening next really overshadowed this goal. I think only a couple seconds later Brentford shot a goal immediately. Probably Chelsea's tactics were going full attack mo...

Q1 2022: Quick Albums Reviews

Image
The first quarter of 2022 has come to an end. There're some albums that I liked, some albums that I felt disappointed with. I'll talk about some albums that I have feelings about. Here we go! Silvana Estrada - Marchita     I don't listen to Spanish music much, because I don't understand Spanish, basically. However, emotion is beyond languages and it's truly beautiful. I couldn't keep track of the lyrics all the time, but I'll try my best to comprehend. The instruments built a very gentle and soft atmosphere and when the vocals dropped, the whole vibe became heartbreaking. The album has a very solid flow whether the tracks are simple or complicated, I equally love all of them. Every element complements each other so well. A very sad and melancholy listen. Nilufer Yanya - PAINLESS     My initial thoughts after the first listen: this girl doesn't sound like a girl at all! She reminds me of Snail Mail, but Nilufer sounds more hoarse and manly. It's a...
